Description &Applications	Validamycin E is a natural aminoglycoside antibiotic produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. limoneus. It was first isolated in 1971 from the culture broth of the strain and has since then been recognized as a potent antifungal agent. The compound has a unique structure, consisting of a cyclopentane ring, a hexose sugar, and an aminocyclitol moiety.
