Description &Applications	4-Hydroxy-3-methyl-2-(2-propenyl)-2-cyclopentene-1-one is an organic compound that belongs to the group of heterocyclic compounds. It is a chrysanthemate, which is a type of reactive oxygen species that is produced by the enzyme cytochrome P450. This active form inhibits the activity of enzymes through enzymatic inhibition or pesticide activity. 4-Hydroxy-3-methyl-2-(2-propenyl)-2-cyclopentene-1-one has been shown to inhibit the enzymes catalase and phospholipase A2, but also shows pesticidal activity against insects such as ants, cockroaches, and mosquitoes.
