9H-Xanthen-9-ol
9H-Xanthen-9-ol (CAS No.: 90-46-0, CAT No.: SRCX-001), also known as Xanthydrol or 9-Hydroxyxanthene, is a tricyclic aromatic alcohol widely used in research and chemical synthesis. Its unique structure, combining a xanthene core with a hydroxyl substituent at the 9-position, makes it useful as an intermediate and derivatization agent in analytical and synthetic chemistry, as well as in the formulation of pharmaceuticals and as a protecting group for thiols.
